Shea Butter

Unrefined, or raw shea butter is an unparalleled and superior moisturizer with excellent skin healing properties. Shea Butter can soften and protect against drying while also increasing local capillary circulation in the skin which helps skin stay healthy and clear. Raw Shea butter is full of Vitamin A and E which can help increase skin elasticity and firmness.

Cocoa Butter

Raw, unfiltered Cocoa Butter melts at body temperature and is packed full of vitamins and anti-oxidants which make it ideal for use as a moisturizer. Cocoa butter has been shown to help relieve the itching, chapping, peeling, or burning discomfort associated with conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. By creating a protective barrier between skin and the outside world, cocoa butter allows the skin to retain its required moisture.

Helichrysum

Helichrysum contains anti-microbial and regenerative compounds that promote healthy skin cell growth and regeneration. Helichrysum can aid in the healing of wounds, burns, and rashes and the appearance of scarring. This essential oil can make the skin look more firm and youthful.

Chamomile

This skin soothing botanical extract is incredibly calming and nourishing. German Chamomile has been shown to be a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory and has been known to contain pain relieving properties. As a natural antibacterial skin soother, this extract is an essential part of many of our formulations.

Calendula

Calendula has long been used by herbalists as a treatment for the skin. Calendula has been shown to speed healing, moisturize delicate skin, and calm inflammation. Some studies even show that calendula has re-epithelizing activity which makes it a wonderful extract and herbal infusion in many of our creams, balms, and salves.

Plantain

Plantain, or Plantago major, has been used for centuries in most regions of the world for skin conditions. It has traditionally been used to treat inflammation and heal wounds while offering protection as an antimicrobial and pain relief as an analgesic. Topically applied plantain can also sooth even the most itchy skin.

In order to craft this diaper rash cream, we chose the most powerful healing, soothing, certified organic herbs and place them in our specialty jars for infusing. We infuse the herbs in the oil using a method that extracts as much of the potent herbs as possible while still carefully preserving the integrity of the olive oil. Our infusing jars, as well as the zinc cream jar, were both carefully selected so all of the important skin benefits of both the oil and the herbs can remain in the salve instead of suffering damage caused by light.
