How to use

Apply liberally with clean hands. While our Herbal Baby Oil is gentle enough for newborns, it is also perfect for using on the whole family. The ingredients in this Baby Body Oil are incredibly nourishing for the skin when used at any time, but for maximum absorption, use after a bath.

To prevent cradle cap, keep the areas such as the scalp and face well oiled with Herbal Baby Oil. Use as often as needed, but especially after a bath.

To treat cradle cap, rub a small amount of the Herbal Baby Oil into the scalp or other affected areas. Work into the skin/scalp very well. It may be necessary to even let the oil stay on the scalp for a short period of time so it can be absorbed well. Use a comb, soft brush, or clean rag to clean out the flakes that will come off after the application of the oil. Rinse the scalp or area with warm water until the oil is gone. Depending on the child, it may be necessary to use a gentle soap or cleanser to rinse the oil out of the hair.

Our key ingredients

Jojoba Oil

Jojoba oil is technically more of a wax than an oil. Grown in a harsh desert environment where most plants cannot survive, the jojoba plant survives by sealing its pores agains the elements. The oil works in a similar way for the skin and prevents water loss which is one of the primary causes of aging. Jojoba will gently coat the skin to protect while still allowing the skin to breathe. It is noncomedogenic therefore it will not clog the pores. Instead, it can help to regulate the skin’s natural sebum production while attracting moisture to hydrate.

Chamomile

This skin soothing botanical extract is incredibly calming and nourishing. German Chamomile has been shown to be a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory and has been known to contain pain relieving properties. As a natural antibacterial skin soother, this extract is an essential part of many of our formulations.

Calendula

Calendula has long been used by herbalists as a treatment for the skin. Calendula has been shown to speed healing, moisturize delicate skin, and calm inflammation. Some studies even show that calendula has re-epithelizing activity which makes it a wonderful extract and herbal infusion in many of our creams, balms, and salves.

Sunflower Oil

High Oleic Sunflower Oil is cold pressed from the seed of Helianthus annuus flowers. The high oleic version of this oil is used due to it's improved stability which allows our products to stay fresh longer. High Oleic Sunflower Oil is a wonderful oil for the skin as it offers excellent absorption and barrier forming properties.

Helichrysum

Helichrysum contains anti-microbial and regenerative compounds that promote healthy skin cell growth and regeneration. Helichrysum can aid in the healing of wounds, burns, and rashes and the appearance of scarring. This essential oil can make the skin look more firm and youthful.

Plantain

Plantain, or Plantago major, has been used for centuries in most regions of the world for skin conditions. It has traditionally been used to treat inflammation and heal wounds while offering protection as an antimicrobial and pain relief as an analgesic. Topically applied plantain can also sooth even the most itchy skin.

We dug into the research and after much contemplation, we decided the best way to offer our customers highest quality products was to select Miron glass jars and bottles. Miron glass is a deep purple color and very different from your average glass bottle or jar. Clear, blue, green, and brown colored glass bottles/jars all allow visible light to pass through to the product contained within. This means that the delicate ingredients, those same ingredients that are supposed to supply nourishment to your skin, would be degraded. Ingredients simply cannot stay as fresh when exposed to visible light. This is what makes Miron Violet Glass so special. The completely unique properties of Miron glass means that only violet light and the spectral range of UV-A and infrared light can pass through while all visible light cannot. These frequencies of light have been found to protect while visible light accelerates decomposition. UV-A light, which can pass through Miron glass, is responsible for slowing down growth of bacteria, mold, and pathogens. Infrared light, which Miron glass also allows through, has been shown to have healing properties. The dynamic energy of the nourishing products contained within this specialty glass is preserved thereby making it perfect for storing any type of remedy including ones for your skin.
